MIDSUMMER DREAMS

It begins with a fairytale, ends with a brooding landscape and bounds through a spirited symphony. Midsummer Dreams, our latest album, roams over a sweep of Romantic visions in an Australian HIP premiere recording on period instruments.

From Mendelssohn’s magical Overture to A Midsummer Night’s Dream through Beethoven’s radical Symphony No.8 in F major and Mendelssohn’s moody ‘Scottish’ Symphony No.3 in A minor, this album offers a fascinating voyage into 19th century dreams and poetry. Recorded live at The Concourse, Sydney.

Available in physical & digital CD, and on all streaming platforms.

Conducted by Rachael Beesley, with soprano soloist Jacqueline Porter, and recorded live at City Recital Hall, Sydney, Illuminate shines a light on three works by Bruch, Britten and Tchaikovsky, painting vivid colours with period string instruments and the visceral emotion of historically informed performance (HIP).

Available in digital CD and on all streaming platforms.
