Sydney-based violinist Julia Russoniello specialises in historical performance with a particular interest in music of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Julia has performed with the Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra, Sydney Philharmonia Orchestra, Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, Salut! Baroque, Orchestra of the Antipodes, The Muffat Collective, Bach Akademie Australia, Australian Haydn Ensemble and has been recorded for live broadcast on ABC Classic and Fine Music 102.5.

Julia’s project The Golden Age Quartet emulates the musical style of early twentieth-century icons such as Rudy Wiedoeft, Daisy Kennedy and The Clive Amadio Quartet and has seen performances across Sydney with a debut album released in 2022.

Julia is a recent National Archives of Australia postgraduate fellow and her research into Australian performing practices has been published in Musicology Australia.

Julia Russoniello has performed regularly with the Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra since 2014. She was the guest presenter at the Voyage of Musical Discovery programs in Sydney and Brisbane in 2022 and tutors at the Young Mannheim Symphonists education programs.
