Holding a master’s degree from both the Guildhall Opera Course, London, and the Sydney Conservatorium Opera School, soprano Celeste Lazarenko performed with English National Opera, Opera North, English Touring Opera and East Sussex Opera before relocating back to Sydney.

In Australia, Celeste’s roles include the title role in The Cunning Little Vixen (Victorian Opera); Télaïre (Castor et Pollux), Medea (Giasone), and Leonore (L’amant jaloux) for Pinchgut Opera; Female Chorus (The Rape of Lucretia) for Sydney Chamber Opera and Dark Mofo; Fiji Woman (Whiteley) for Opera Australia and Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Pamina and Second Lady (The Magic Flute) and Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro) for Opera Australia touring.

Recent concert performances include Ross Edwards’ Symphony No.2 (Sydney Symphony Orchestra), Mozart Requiem (Royal Melbourne Philharmonic), St Matthew Passion (Sydney Philharmonia Choirs) and Messiah (New Zealand Symphony Orchestra).

Celeste is the opera singing voice of Radha Mitchell, in the film Celeste released worldwide this year.
